This personal portfolio and the Data Muncher personal application are run by Joshua Patton. This page explains what happens when you visit, send me a message, or use Data Muncher. Last updated October 7, 2026.
Data Muncher
Data Muncher is a private, owner-only tool used to save notes and user-selected files to a dedicated Google Drive folder. It uses Google OAuth and the drive.file permission to create and manage only files created by the application or explicitly selected for use with it. Data Muncher does not request unrestricted access to all files in a Google Drive account.
Submitted notes, files, titles, tags, filenames, file types, sizes, and submission timestamps may be stored in the authorized owner’s Google Drive. Authentication information is used only to provide the requested Drive functionality and is not sold, shared for advertising, or used for unrelated purposes.
The authorized owner controls the stored files through Google Drive and may delete them there at any time. Access may also be revoked through the owner’s Google Account security settings. Questions or deletion requests may be sent to joshpatton@gmail.com.
Contact messages
If you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, and message. The form sends that information to FormSubmit, which forwards it to my email inbox. I use it to respond to you and follow up on our conversation. Please do not send sensitive information through the form.
FormSubmit says it may hold submissions for up to 30 days as part of its delivery process. I may retain email correspondence for follow-up; I do not have a fixed deletion schedule. You can contact me to ask about or request deletion of a message I still hold. I do not sell contact-form information.
Site visits and third-party services
ChatGPT Sites, the hosting service operated by OpenAI, automatically records site traffic. I can see totals and trends for unique visitors and page views in its analytics dashboard. The pages do not add a separate analytics service or advertising tracker. OpenAI may also process technical information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and secure the site; see OpenAI’s privacy policy. The pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google; see Google’s privacy policy.
Cookies
The pages’ own code does not set cookies or use browser storage for tracking. The hosting platform records traffic automatically, but its public documentation does not specify whether that measurement uses cookies or similar browser identifiers. This site currently has no cookie consent banner. Submitting the contact form takes you to FormSubmit, which may use cookies on its own service. If nonessential cookies or similar tracking are confirmed on this site, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated.
